Having stood for a century, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence (MCD) converted from the Lyemun Fort will soon be re-opened with a brand new look, and will offer specially crafted "MCD Day & Night" which consists of diversified day and night programmes, providing participants with an innovative museum experience.
The "MCD Day" includes a range of activities for museum visitors, adults and children, to rediscover the museum and the coastal defence history of Hong Kong. Highlight of the event is the revamped permanent exhibition "The Story of Hong Kong Coastal Defence", which will enable visitors to explore an important page of the local history in diverse ways. Other programmes include performance by Gay Singers, a renowned A Cappella group, who will perform the theme song they created for the museum. There will also be workshops, bioblitz tours as well as screenings of films about the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression selected by the Hong Kong Film Archive.
