Introduction Completed in 1420, the Forbidden City was the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. For five centuries, it was the centre of supreme power, and is currently the world's largest and best-preserved ancient wooden palace structure. In collaboration with the Palace Museum, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is pleased to present the "Traversing the Forbidden City" Series. Through specific themes, the series introduces the ancient architecture, cultural treasures, historical relics, and the people and things in the royal family from various perspectives. The series recreates Chinese history and cultural treasures of the Forbidden City through drama performances, workshops, school tour exhibitions and online exhibitions, inviting viewers to reflect upon the relationship between traditional Chinese culture and modern life.
