"Reading with Curators" Talk Series Retracing the Ink: Hong Kong Scenery and the Development of Ink Art
In a place where Chinese and Western cultural traditions assimilate, a number of renowned ink artists nurtured in Hong Kong have developed their style in their forward-looking and promising artworks. In the fourth talk of the series, "Retracing the Ink: Hong Kong Scenery and the New Horizon of Ink Art", curators would introduce the paintings from Huang Bore, one of the pioneering artists dedicated to depicting the local scenes, and share with you the new perspective and the remarkable achievement of ink art in Hong Kong.
The exhibition catalogue, A Eulogy of Hong Kong Landscape in Painting: The Art of Huang Bore, features Huang Bore's paintings depicting the enchanting scenes of Hong Kong. You may have a glimpse of the beautiful scenery in the past from his affectionate painting technique and multifarious representations of the landscape.
Besides the stunning scenes, the development and the achievement of Hong Kong ink art are impressive as well. The artworks in the catalogue, Legacy and Creations - Ink Art vs Ink Art, showcases the works featured in the exhibition jointly organized by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and Shanghai Art Museum during Shanghai Expo 2010, demonstrating a unique perspective and the multi facets of Hong Kong contemporary ink art.
