To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC), on 1 October this year, admission to all museums and art space of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will be free, including the permanent exhibitions of the Hong Kong Science Museum (HKScM) and the Hong Kong Space Museum (HKSpM) (except Space Theatre shows), as well as the special exhibition "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time – In Search of Chinese Art of Scent" at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA). (Note: The Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum is now closed temporarily for upgrading the permanent exhibition galleries, and for maintenance and renovation works. The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre will be closed on that day.) Each museum will distribute souvenirs to the first 75 visitors that day.
In addition, HKMoA, Hong Kong Museum of History(HKMH), HKHM, HKScM, HKSpM, Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence (MWRCD), Oi! and Conservation Office will organise various special activities.
